Type designers are often bibliomaniacs. A signage font for a new public library is a kind of a dream job. Simplicity, geometry (without excessive rigour), and playfulness: an ‘I’ is a book. A slash / is the same one… falling on its right on the bookshelf. From this simple and efficient starting point comes the whole font. With cheerful oblique letters and piles of volumes waiting for readers, the signage of the library can be legible as well as enjoyable.
